Silly Autumn thoughts

It's raining leaves all over our place. I watch them wait for a light breeze before they jump. The flight takes a few seconds: a long time in a leaf's life. The sensible ones land on a garden that has no flowers or the yard which forgot to stay green. The mean ones try to hide over the roof, the sky-lights or the gutters. They think they are so smart... But I can see them and somehow they'll have to be dislodged from there.

When the gentle breeze returns, they talk to each other, with that metallic red or yellow voice of dry leaves, about turning into mush under the cozy snow and climbing to the top of the trees with the early spring to become green leaves, again... But I watch them with a devious smile: they are all going to the dump, eventually...

Saludos,
